How it Works

Critical Archive operates servers in an off-site SAS70 certified storage data facility for your company data. An account is maintained for each user. Each account is protected by a password / key known only to the user.

The electronic vault system is set up so that at a preset time, (usually at night) your server(s) will automatically prepare data for backup. They determine which files have been modified since the last backup, compresses them, and encrypts them for security. When the data is ready, the server(s) use the Internet to contact a Critical Archive Server(s) and transmit the data.

The Critical Archive Server verifies and stores the data. You can rest assured that your data is safe for you to restore at any time.

  • Includes Setup of 2 Backup Jobs - one nightly backup job for select company data files to the Critical Archive Server and one for SQL Files
  • $ 99 per month - For Up to 50 GB of compressed data offsite for a Single Server
  • Over 50 Gig of storage is billed at $2 per gig afterwards based on peak monthly usage
  • $ 9 per month - For Each additional server added to the backup job
  • FREE Data Restore is included when download is initiated over the internet. Support to assist in this process is also included

for customers who have the capability to rebuild a new server from scratch with a new OS and Applications in the event of a disaster

  • $ 499 One Time Setup Fee, includes local 1 TB NAS Storage Drive and Critical Archive Software – This option replaces your tape drive and tapes. Nightly backups run faster and the NAS device is covered by Critical Archive for the life of the service.
  • In the event of catastrophic failure, you rebuild your server operating system and application software then restore data from the archive.
  • Includes Setup of 2+ Backup Jobs - one full nightly backup job to the NAS device and one nightly data backup job to the Critical Archive Server and additional jobs for SQL Data. This provides a complete local backup on site for quick recovery in the event that a file is corrupted or deleted.

For the customer who requires a full server image restore to a new server in the event of a catastrophic event.

  • $1895 Setup Fee for one server, and $1495 for each additional server, includes:
    • 1 TB Local NAS Storage Drive
    • Acronis True Image Echo Windows Server Software with Universal Restore
    • Critical Archive Backup Software (For upload to the archive with encryption)

    This option replaces your tape drive and tapes. Nightly backup runs faster on local area network to disk and the NAS device is covered by Critical Archive for the life of the service.

    In the event of fire, you would download your server image(s) and then the most recent copy of your data files. This option allows for restore to a new server unlike the one you have now.

    During setup, we create a restorable image of your file server(s) to be archived in our datacenter along with a base copy of your data. Once the image is created, we copy it onto a NAS device that you ship back to us for download to the archive.
